Here, you will find information about the clients we serve and to whom we provide technology-led economic development services in Southeastern U.S. Learn how we determine our target audience and the areas we offer help.
The midsized cities that EconoVention R.E.D. will focus on are in the states of Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. The initial focus will be on selected, midsized cities in these eight states. These selections will be made based on current relationships, analysis of the need, perceived opportunities, and bandwidth of the team.
Our initial approach will be to select cities where we already have relationships and where some of our team members have previously done economic development work.
We have selected as our first cities of focus the cities of Tulsa, Shreveport, Memphis, Bentonville (N.W. Arkansas), and Jackson. We have had previous connections in these cities or have recently made connections in these cities over the last few months as we got EconoVention R.E.D. up and running. Our approach will be to use tried and true technology-led economic development models to improve these cities in a variety of ways.
As we are successful in moving these targeted cities forward, we will then move on to other midsized cities throughout the Southeast.
Our longer-term strategy will be working with at least one midsized city in each of the eight states.
One of the proven models that we will be using is the IC2 model developed in Austin which helped to drive the technology-led development we see in the city today. John Butler, one of our Managing Partners, was heavily involved with IC2 and brings that background and experience to EconoVention R.E.D. We will assess each city from where they stand with technology-led economic development, identify the gaps and then provide services to fill the gaps that we find. We will lay out a strategic plan to fill the gaps and then help with the coordination of that plan acting in the role of an integrator.
